Cressi Matrix Mask Review

When I first started diving, the mask was one of the most frustrating parts. It would leak, fog up, and generally just be a headache. I tried all kinds of masks from cheap ones to expensive ones and they all had their own issues.

Then I discovered the Cressi Matrix scuba diving mask and everything changed. This mask has been around for decades and it’s still going strong because it works so well. It’s affordable, comfortable, and doesn’t leak.

What makes this mask so great is how simple it is to use: there are no dials or levers; just put it on your face like any other scuba mask and go for it! When you get into the water, you will notice that there is no leaking at all there isn’t even any fogging up since it comes with an anti-fog coating built right in! You can breathe normally without having to worry about water getting in at all!

This is also super comfortable, really soft silicone that feels great against your skin without being too bulky or heavy feeling on your face when you wear it for long periods of time (like when you are snorkeling).

Unboxing the Cressi Matrix Mask

I was so excited to unbox my new Cressi Matrix Scuba Diving Mask. I am a huge fan of the brand, and this looks like it will be the perfect addition to my collection.

The packaging is pretty standard for Cressi: a simple white box with a picture of the mask on it. But what’s inside?

The mask comes with a user manual, carrying case, replacement silicone strap, and buckle, nose clip and screws, as well as two lens options (clear or blue). It’s also got a microfiber cleaning cloth and a small bottle of solution to clean the interior of your scuba mask.

It took me just a few minutes to get everything out of the box and ready for use! The strap was easy to adjust, and there were no tools required just a few screws! The nose clip was super easy to install as well you just put it over your nose and tighten it up at the back of your head. Then all you have to do is insert your lenses into their respective spots on either side of your mask’s frame (one clear lens and one blue lens included in each package). And voila! You are ready for some deep-sea diving adventures!

Why I loved it!

I really love the way that it fits on my face. When it arrived in the mail, I couldn’t wait to open it up and take it out for a test drive! The first thing I noticed was that this new version has less bulk than previous versions, it’s slimmer around my face but still feels sturdy and comfortable. The silicone is soft to the touch and moves with your skin instead of against it.

When I put it on, it felt like I was wearing nothing at all! It’s so light that you can barely feel any pressure at all-around your eyes or cheeks when you are wearing it. And that’s really important because if it feels uncomfortable while you are diving, your brain will subconsciously focus on how bad your mask feels instead of enjoying being underwater. So having a mask that fits well and feels good is essential for divers who want to get the most out of their time underwater!

Cressi Metrix Mask Build Quality

The best thing I noticed about this mask was its quality construction. I could tell from the moment I pulled it out of the packaging that it was made to last. The silicone skirt wraps around my face comfortably and securely, without leaving any gaps or wrinkles. And the tempered glass lens doesn’t scratch easily, I have been using it for months now and have only noticed a few small surface scratches, but nothing that affects visibility. Before this mask, I tried Oceanic Shadow Mask, you can check that review too.

I purchased the Cressi Matrix scuba diving mask because I wanted to get a mask that was built to last. As, I do a lot of diving and snorkeling, so I needed something that would hold up to the salt water and rough conditions.

This mask has been used by me for many days now and can honestly say that it has held up perfectly. I have been able to use it in every kind of weather condition and under all kinds of conditions (from salt water to freshwater), and it still looks brand new! The rubber skirt is flexible but durable, which is exactly what you want in a scuba mask. It also comes with four different sizes of nosepieces so that you can get one that fits perfectly to your face shape and size.

This mask also comes with a wide range of features that make it easy to use in various situations. It has a one-touch quick-release buckle system that makes it easy to put on or remove while wearing gloves or mittens, and its purge valve makes clearing water out of your mask simple.

Design

This mask is designed to fit your face perfectly, which means that you will not have to worry about leaking or fogging up your lens. It comes with three sizes of nosepieces (small, medium, and large) so that you can choose one that fits you best. I went with the small nosepiece because my face is pretty small and it fits perfectly.

Silicon Skirt

The silicone skirt of this mask is soft and smooth, it feels great against your face! The silicone skirt also makes it super easy to adjust the mask’s strap so that it fits snugly around your head without leaving any gaps between the top of your head and where the strap attaches on top of your ears. The rubber strap itself has lots of holes in it so that you can customize how tight or lose you want it around your head based on how much pressure you are comfortable with while swimming underwater.

Performance of Cressi Metrix Mask

The Cressi Matrix mask is a great choice for the diver who wants a lot of visibility and comfort. It has an easy-to-adjust head strap, and it comes with silicone earplugs that you can use to block out water pressure if necessary.

The mask also comes with a wide field of view, which is important if you are looking for an immersive experience. This scuba mask has a double lens that gives you an even clearer view of your surroundings. It also has an anti-fog coating on both sides, so you won’t have any trouble seeing underwater.

The vision through the lens is clear, so I can see clearly underwater. The lens is also scratch-resistant, which means that if you do accidentally drop it onto sharp rocks or coral reefs (which I have done) your vision won’t be ruined.

There is no fogging up of the lens even when diving in cold water or when climbing into warm pools after diving in cold water, this has been an issue with other masks that I have used before.

Conclusion: Our Verdict

The Cressi matrix mask is a great choice for novice divers. It’s relatively inexpensive, and it comes with a wide variety of features that, while not necessary for first-time divers, could make your overall underwater experience more enjoyable. Not only do they have a great price point, they were incredibly easy to use one-handed, and the mask has a great field of view.
And if you are a dive master or instructor, this mask probably has everything that you will ever need in a scuba mask, and then some. Overall, I was impressed with the quality (and design) of the product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a premium quality scuba mask at a good price.
