Shearwater Teric Review

I have been diving for over a decade, and I have used just about every dive computer there is. And the Shearwater Teric Dive Computer is by far my favorite. It’s not bulky or heavy like most dive computers, which makes it easy to carry around in your wetsuit.

The screen is also super clear, so you can easily see all of your information without having to squint or get close to the screen. Plus, it’s got a backlight that makes it easy to read even when you are underwater in low-light conditions.

I also love that this dive computer has both a digital clock and date display on it so you can make sure you are not late for your next appointment! Most dive computers don’t have this feature.

Another cool benefit of the dive computer is that it can be used with gloves on—which means that if you are out skiing or snowboarding in the wintertime and want to take a quick dip into an ice-cold lake, then this is the perfect device for you (as long as you are careful not to drop it).

What did I like about Shearwater Teric Dive Computer?

In Gauge mode:

In this mode, the computer displays your current depth and time remaining on the surface in real-time. If you want to see other information about your dive, such as water temperature or deco status, switch back into Free Dive mode and then back into Gauge mode again.

Nitrox mode:

It allows you to specify the percentage of oxygen in your breathing mix so that you can accurately track how much longer before reaching the maximum allowed depths (aka “deco stops”). You can also use Nitrox mode if you want to calculate how much longer before reaching maximum dive time limits (aka “no decompression stops”).

Gauge with Air mode:
